The Public Address Engineers Benevolent Fund

In 1961 by the then council of the Association of Public Address Engineers (APAE) set up The Public Address Engineers Benevolent Fund which is an independent organisation, managed by four trustees who operated the fund under a trust deed.

The purpose of the fund is to render immediate financial assistance to any individual member, bona fide dependant of an individual member or bona fide dependant of any deceased member, who, in the opinion of the trustees, need assistance.

The Alex J Walker Memorial Fund

The sound industry has an independent supporting registered charity that can offer help with training and education.

In 1969 the then council of the Association of Public Address Engineers (APAE) set up a charity in memory of its founder, Alex J Walker, affectionately known as “Alex J”. The Association was founded in 1948.

The main aim of the charity, THE ALEX J WALKER MEMORIAL FUND was set up to help with training and education in our Industry. The fund is independent of any other organisation, managed by four Trustees one of which is the administrator. They operate under a trust deed.

The purpose of the fund is to assist with training new entrants to the Public Address industry and allied Industries. The funds trustees can offer prizes, awards, sponsor lectures, lecturers notes, purchase books for the ISCE Library, offer electronic copies, etc., and generally make information available to improve the standards of workmanship in the industry.
