Many surveys carried out by support organizations such as Action on Hearing Loss report that induction loops are often badly installed or maintained. This means that there is a need for special measures to bring these systems into working order. In order to facilitate this, the ISCE has created a simple form to help ensure that systems are assessed in a consistent manner. ISCE Supporting Members and individual members of Fellow, Member, Senior Technician and Technician grades can join this scheme. Their contact details are given below, and will be published elsewhere, with a notification that they will carry out an assessment of an unsatisfactory loop system and provide a simple report in standard form.
Participants are required to register with ISCE that they have the necessary equipment and skills to carry out the assessment, keeping costs as low as possible consistent with work of a fully professional standard. It is, however, not expected that the assessment will normally require numerous or extensive measurements. Participants may also offer a similar assessment service for sound systems and/or infrared assisted hearing systems.
ISCE does not set guidelines for prices, because companies and individual experts have different cost and pricing structures. It is up to potential users of the service to select a suitable assessor from the list below.
