Job Description:

  • Audiologic require a Technical Support Specialist to assist with supporting predominantly all of our exclusive brands and would be at least partly office-based in our Harlow headquarters
  • There would be three aspects to the role – Technical Support & System Design, Training and lastly Commissioning
  • The required skill set and experience will be first-and-foremost audio-based – commercial audio rather than large live sound – although an experienced pair of ears would be ideal for commissioning purposes
  • The candidate will need to have excellent IP Networking skills as more and more of our product range sits on networks
  • There will be an advantage for this individual to be conversant with video switching/distribution and also RS232/Ethernet control protocols
  • The individual should understand how commercial audio systems are designed and be comfortable with designing systems from (very often vague) specifications
  • The candidate should be well-organised and particularly proud of their attention-to-detail, ideally have a working knowledge of Stardraw and be comfortable issuing technical documentation for larger integrated solutions

We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Engineer (RSE) for the EMEA region.  Ideally UK based, the Sales Engineer will work closely with the Regional Manager to drive the revenue goals of the region by providing sales support for the region’s customers and distribution network, resellers, architects, consultants and end users.  Reporting to the EMEA Regional Manager, the position would be partially home based but also from a managed business office location.  The position will be focused on the UK market, but potentially involves travel within the EMEA region; requiring the individual to be located near a major airport.  Occasional travel outside of the territory may be required.

The Regional Sales Engineer will:

  • Be responsible for seeking out opportunities / potential projects.
  • Prepare quotations and submittals for projects.
  • Work with the regions distribution network to generate sales and growth.
  • Engage with end-users, consultants, main contractors, and specifiers on high visibility projects.
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline to achieve a sustainable close rate.
  • Provide period sales forecasts.
  • Develop relations with specifiers: architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and distributors in region.
  • Support regional trade shows and events to promote products.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • A unique blend of skills, both technical and customer/sales-oriented; proven track record of attaining sales goals.
  • Experience in selling commercial audio and/or structured wiring/IT products through channel partners.
  • Existing relationships with Acoustical and AV consultants is desired.
  • Knowledge of basic acoustics and distributed audio desired; previous experience with sound masking a plus but not essential, full training will be given. Experience with acoustics, audio systems, commercial electronics, security systems, AV equipment is also a plus.
  • Strong work ethic, efficiency and attention to detail are imperative.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, growth environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to juggle simultaneous, high-priority projects
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively listen to both internal and external teams.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills and ability to listen to and understand customer requests.
  • Self-motivated and ability to arrange own work schedule and travel details.
  • Ability to travel within the region and work remotely out of a managed office space / home office.
  • Distribution sales channel experience also a plus.

Preferably you have a degree that majored in subjects such as audio, video or broadcast engineering. Alternatively, you’ll have experience in theatre, ents/tech teams, local/student radio or similar. You’ll certainly know what Dante is, and what 4K/12G means.

The Canford tech team cover many aspects of our operations, including product management, product support, creation of material for the web catalogue, authoring of technical feature articles for the website and publication, creation of design briefs for our manufacturing department, and much more.

You’ll also be involved in the creation of business tools to enable customers to easily specify and price up custom products such as cables and connection panels, all of which are produced by our in-house manufacturing facilities.

As a responsible company, we have to be mindful of a wide range technical compliance issues, something the team also have responsibility for. There may also be opportunities to represent Canford on technical committees such as those of the IABM and PLASA.

There will be some travel to industry exhibitions that Canford attend, such as IBC, ISE, BVE, ABTT and Cabsat. You will also be supporting the key account sales team by handling product demos at customer premises from time to time.

In an industry with such dynamic technology development, it is expected that the company will support the need for continuing professional development through attendance at relevant training sessions when required.
