ISCE Student Membership

Student Membership is a great way to prepare for your career in the sound and communications industries.

Applicants for Student Membership will need to satisfy the ISCE Membership Committee and Council they are receiving appropriate full-time training and/or preparation for employment, including apprenticeship schemes, formal company training and mentoring within the sound and communications, or associated industries, with the future aims of gaining Technician, Senior Technician or Member status.

Student Memberships may be retained for a maximum of six years, until such time as a more senior level is achieved or cessation of attendance as a student on a recognised course/scheme.

Each grade of membership of the ISCE is subject to certain criteria. This  ensures our membership and our institute maintains a position of technical and commercial excellence within our industries.

  • Applicants are receiving full-time training and/or preparation for employment (including apprenticeship schemes, formal company training and mentoring).

  • This should be within the sound, communications or allied industries.

  • Students may retain Student Memberships for a maximum of six years.

  • Employment, vocational training and industrial placement in the sound and communications industries, before or during a student’s study course, will be considered towards qualifying period for transfer to a higher grade of membership.

  • Full details of employment duties and/or training course content, duration and company’s formal training record shall be supplied, with confirmation by the employer or course tutor.

  • Student members are not entitled to use designatory letters.
